I Passed!

Many of you know about my fear of needles, so when I found out that I did not pass the 1 hour glucose test, I was mortified. Yesterday I had to go in for the 3 hour glucose test. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Luckily, I got someone who was really good at finding my veins and I only had 1 extra poke for a total of 5 blood draws (normally, I leave with bruised arms and several stab wounds). The good news is that I passed the 3 hour test and will not have to poke my fingers every day! Hurray!! I can't believe I'm saying this, but yesterday may have helped me get over my fear of needles....just a little bit.

In other news, my doctor said I was measuring perfectly at my visit last week and I still only have to go to the doctor every 4 weeks. I have started the kick counts (you are supposed to get 10 kicks within a 2 hour period). Well, at mass last week I decided to keep on counting and I got around 100 kicks within an hour. I guess the baby likes the music :) I'll post more pics later....my belly is growing every day!

Baby Shower

Bob and I had our first coed baby shower this weekend (aka the pregger kegger). It's hard to explain, but this was the most appropriate way for us to celebrate baby Sully with our friends in Colorado Springs - as inappropriate as it may sound. ERED (as we like to call ourselves) likes to have a good time, but we also like to get in a good work out! We meet every Tuesday night to do a 5K run at Jack Quinn's (or play dodge ball/ultimate frisbee depending on the weather), then we always head over to some body's house for some good food, beer and company. Well, our awesome friends threw an awesome party for us! We got lots of generous gifts, including the BOB jogging stroller from the whole group. If any of you have heard of this stroller, you know what an amazing gift it was. We'll still be able to make our Tuesday night runs with the group thanks to this high tech all-terrain baby transporter. You have no idea how excited Bob was. He was taking that stroller everywhere with him....at one point it almost ended up in the pool. A huge thanks to everyone who planned the party and attended!

My sisters will be driving out to Colorado to throw me another baby shower at my parent's place in early August :) I'm already looking forward to seeing everyone! Baby has no idea how lucky his or her parents are to have such great friends and family. Here are a couple of pictures from the festivities:

I still can't believe Betsy found this onesie!  Bob is literally obsessed with going Green!

Less Than 100 Days!

I sort of freaked out the other day when I saw the ticker on the side of my blog - less than 100 days to go! Don't get me wrong. I'm extremely excited to hold my baby and see what baby Sully looks like, but I think I just need more time to prepare (both mentally and physically). I have really enjoyed the second trimester and I'm kind of sad to see it go so soon. I have felt great the entire time, but I know that is about to change. My hips are starting to ache more and my expanding belly is starting to get in the way of bending over. Small price to pay for our little one though!  The baby is moving around a lot now and it is crazy how you can feel different body parts move across your belly!  Every once and a while it looks like something is trying to break out of my tummy....kind of freaky, but really cool.

Here is a shot of me from a couple of days ago (don't mind the cheesy pose). You can see that the baby is growing at warp speed. I have also included a photo from a hike on Memorial Day and a trip to Garden of the Gods. With all the rain we have been getting lately, I'm not sure if I have ever seen Colorado so green. It is absolutely beautiful!
