Wow, we have been horrible about posting updates lately! Things have been busy getting ready for Goose and handling a very energetic 2 year old. Here are just a few photos from our wonderful visit to DC with the entire Sullivan family. Erin did well on the trip (especially since she had her own seat on the plane) and loved hanging out with her Sullivan cousins. There is no doubt that Erin understands what presents are now :) Bob took more pics on his phone of the kids, so hopefully those will get posted soon!

I think Erin loves her cousins more than anything! We were able to meet Erin's newest cousin, Ruthie, a few weeks ago for her baptism in Nebraska. Erin had so much fun with all of her cousins that she couldn't sleep. Luckily, the Henkenius family was able to make the drive out to Colorado for Thanksgiving, so Erin was able to see most of her cousins just a few weeks later. We missed the Snyders and Nate, but had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Erin is very nurturing to Ruthie, which is a good sign for the second baby joining our family soon!

Erin is at a really fun stage right now. She is starting to hold real conversations with us and she says some of the funniest things! One of her favorite things to do now is take pictures. Nana & Pops Visit Colorado!

We are way behind in posting these pictures! Nana and Pops came to visit us in Colorado for almost two weeks and Erin loved every second of it. Although Nana and Pops were cold almost the whole visit, I think they enjoyed their time as well. Erin can't wait to see you at Christmas!!

It didn't take long for Erin to learn what Halloween is all about....candy! We went trick or treating at Daddy's work this afternoon (which was awesome) and then hit up a few houses in the neighborhood (including Tejon). Although we aren't really letting her eat the candy, Erin enjoyed saying "trick or treat" and filling her bucket with lots of goodies. I think my little ladybug had a very good day!

We are excited to announce that Erin is going to be a big sister in April! I'm almost 15 weeks along and feeling great now. The only thing that is freaking me out a little is that my belly is about 4 weeks ahead of what it was with my first pregnancy...eek!

We asked Erin what we should call the baby, and without hesitation she said, "goose". She seems excited, but probably has no clue what is really going on. Either way, I know she will be the best big sister and we are so excited to become a family of four!

We attempted to take Nana and Pops to the pumpkin patch last weekend but it was do windy it was a cold dust bowl. We tried again this weekend and the weather was great. Nice and sunny with little wind. Erin had a blast.

We took Erin up to Mueller State Park to see the Aspen. They were almost at the peak, but we picked the worng trail to get the full effect. We will have to go back Friday with Nana and Pops to see some more. Erin loved the backpack.

Thanks to the Browns, Bob and I were able to spend 2 days in Breckenridge without Erin for Adam & Steph's Wedding. The weather was beautiful and we had a blast (not to mention, the drive up was gorgeous with all the yellow Aspen tress)! Don't worry though, Erin didn't miss us one bit. She got to have a sleepover with her best friend Cooper and even took a trip to the zoo.

Erin thoroughly enjoyed her 2nd birthday! She got spoiled with presents from all of her adult friends and squealed with delight as she opened each new toy. Busia and Grandpa were able to make it to her party while Nana and Pops were able to watch Erin blow out her candles on Skype. I guess she has been paying attention because she knew exactly what she was doing.

Summer Vacation

We took a nice summer vacation this year to New Jersey, with a road trip up to Rhode Island and Connecticut. Erin was great on the flight, but I now know why you have to buy a separate ticket when they turn 2. It is very difficult to hold a 22 month old on your lap for a 4 hour flight without them kicking the seat in front of you! We were all exhausted by the end of that flight, but it was well worth the trip.

Erin had the chance to meet most of her extended family on the Sullivan side and had a blast! She also made her second appearance at the beach and loved every second of it. By the end of the day, we had to chase her as she ran straight into the ocean...eek! Erin certainly misses her Nana and Pops after spending so much time with them :) We hope to see them again when she turns 2 in September!!

Happy 4th of July! We had some friends over for a BBQ on Sunday and then made the tail end of the children's parade in our neighborhood this morning. I think Erin will have a blast decorating a bike for the parade next year. Thanks Nana for the super cute outfit :)

For Father’s Day, I decided to make something special for you….A little trip down memory lane of the past 21 months. You probably won’t even remember Erin being so small. I know I had forgotten many of these moments until I was sifting through old photos and videos. You can see how truly blessed we are and what a happy little girl Erin is. She changed our lives forever and there is nothing more I could wish for. I see so much of you in her and that just makes me so happy.

Even though you have been busy with work, school, etc., you still make Erin and I feel like we are the center of your world. We wait anxiously every day to be able to say “Daddy’s home!” and give you a big hug when you walk in the door.

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful life for our beautiful daughter. Doesn’t time just go by in a blink?

Christmas 2010

Get ready for lots of photos! This Christmas was a busy one (in a very good way). Erin was surrounded by loved ones for over 2 weeks, so I think she is going to get very bored now that she is just stuck with me. Bob's brother, Pat, and his family came out to visit Colorado Springs the week before Christmas. Erin LOVED hanging out with her play buddies and was slightly obsessed with her cousin, Cullen. We even made it up to Breckenridge for a quick day of skiing, where Erin fell in love with the snow.

After one day of rest, we headed up to Castle Rock for a McGregor family Christmas. Everyone came back this year, which means 8 grandchildren in one house! Erin was in heaven. Poor Gregory....he is the closest in age to Erin and could not escape her. We had a wonderful Christmas with family and Santa was good to all the kids :)

After heading back home for one day to do laundry and pack again, we drove up to Breckenridge to celebrate the New Year with good friends and cold skiing. Thanks to our friend Julie, we were able to ski 3 days (although 2 of those were only half days with the freezing temperatures). Enjoy the many, many pictures! We hope everyone had blessed and happy holiday season. 2010 has been good to us, welcome 2011!

You wouldn't guess it is December and almost time for Christmas from the weather outside. A lovely 65 degrees today in Colorado Springs and I'm loving it (although I'm ready for snow when I hit the slopes & Christmas morning)!

Erin met Santa for the first time today at a Mom's Club party. She wasn't too sure about him and started crying right after I took this photo, but who wouldn't be scared at that age??? Erin loves to play soccer, loves babies, eats like a champion, and continues to crack us up every day with her silly faces & noises! She is also growing like a weed. I swear she grew 2 inches overnight last week....she is now longer than her changing table....not sure when that happened. The only bad thing I can say about her is that she is fascinated with the toilet and the bath tub. What does this mean? If I can't find my hair brush, it is probably in the tub along with a soccer ball and stacking cup. Only one fatal drop of her baby doll in the toilet so far! So Much to be Thankful For

Happy belated Thanksgiving! We have a lot to be thankful for this year....a happy, healthy, beautiful toddler, a wonderful family and wonderful friends!

We traveled to NJ this year for Thanksgiving to be with Bob's parents (Nana & Pops). The trip was a lot of fun, but Erin caught a really bad cold on the way home and I caught it soon after....therefore, our house has not been a lot of fun this past week. I think we're all feeling better now, so I have no excuse to put off posting pictures any longer!

This is Taya, Erin's newest cousin. Isn't she adorable?!?! I took a long road trip with Busia, Grandpa & Erin this past weekend to attend Taya's baptism and hang out with the family. Erin only cried a total of 5 minutes the entire car ride from Colorado to Oklahoma and back (thank goodness)! She had a blast with her cousins!!!! After hanging out with 7 other kids, she walks a little faster and talks a little louder! After a week long sickness, Erin finally got to participate in one Halloween event...the coffin races in Manitou. She missed out on Trick-Or-Treating at Daddy's work and a Halloween party with the Moms club, but at least she got a chance to wear her costume (in the heat)! Happy Halloween everyone!

Best Place On Earth!

It has been a few weeks already, but Erin made her first trip to the best place on Earth (a.k.a. Notre Dame). We got a chance to tailgate and go to the game while my Mom & Uncle Mark watched Erin. Erin also got a chance to meet her Great Grandpa! He's in a rehabilitation hospital right now, but he was still as happy as can be. Sorry it has been so long since my last post. We have great videos of her walking, but again, that will have to wait until later. She is getting speedy!

I'm finally posting some pictures from Erin's birthday and the visit from Nana and Pops! Erin is taking 20+ steps at a time now and is playing with ALL of her new toys given to her on her birthday (she got spoiled)! She had her one year checkup last week and her head is officially off the charts (just like her Daddy's). Too funny! She weighs in at a whopping 19 pounds (12th percentile, I think) and her height is 75th percentile. She is doing great and is as happy as can be. She misses her Nana & Pops though...she got used to entertainment around the house while they were here. Enjoy the pics! Some day we will post videos of her walking, but that will have to wait for another day.

Our sweet baby girl turned one yesterday. I'm not sure where the year went, but she is an absolute blessing. She is so easy going, so loving, so patient, so silly, and so stinkin' cute! We just love that girl. Part of me is sad that she is already turning one...time has gone by so fast. BUT, a bigger part of me is just so excited to see what the next year will bring. Her personality is really shining through and she certainly knows how to make us laugh. When she wakes up from a good nap, she is so excited when I walk in the room and she hugs me tight around my neck with a little giggle. Those are the moments I just try to take in and not forget because I know it is all going to go by too fast. Happy Birthday, Erin! We love you so very much! We are so happy to have you as our daughter.

As of two days ago, Erin is officially crawling. She is a quick little sucker and loves to explore all ends of the house. This means trouble for mommy and daddy, but we are so proud of her! She also got her two bottom teeth a couple of weeks ago. We had no idea until we heard a clanging sound when she was trying to drink out of a glass. No fussing whatsoever :)

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day! Bob spoiled me rotten and Erin was good as usual. My parents even came over for a nice dinner outside. Here are the three lovely ladies on Mother's Day.

Two weeks ago my good friend Sharri came to visit from Chicago. I finally met Makayla (who is already 15 months) and Sharri has another little one on the way. My how times have changed since we travelled in Australia together! I am so lucky to have such a great friend and I can only hope that Makayla and Erin will get to hang out again in the future. They had a blast together!! I just had to post this picture even though Makayla was a little angel with Erin about 99.9% of the time.

Busy, Busy, Busy

If the posts become few and far between, it's because we're busy! I was recently contacted by someone I used to work for who got moved onto a new project with my old parent company. She was looking for some help and wanted me to work part-time from home. Boy was I excited about this opportunity! It was a hard decision for me to leave work in the first place, but I knew it was all worth it to be at home with Erin. Now I get the best of both worlds....staying in the work force without having to leave my baby all day :) Although this is truly an ideal situation for me, it is also very time consuming and stressful at times. I'm a full-time mom, part-time employee, trying to start up my own little painting business, and trying to be a good wife and homemaker. Something has got to give! I try to work while Erin naps or after she goes to bed for the night, but that is when I used to paint or catch up on regular chores. I think this calls for a maid!!!!

Now onto the stuff you really care about.... Erin is just seconds away from crawling. She almost has it figured out and can do the army crawl quite well or just roll to get where she wants to go. She is getting into everything she possibly can, which means it is officially time to baby proof the house. She recently starting waving hi to people when they come to greet her. As of yesterday, her favorite new thing to do is pucker her lips like she is going to give you a smooch (although the way she furrows her eyebrows makes her look quite silly and mad). How Do I Choose?

I am lucky enough to know a second, very talented photographer in Colorado Springs who wanted to exchange services. Kristi took amazing photos of Erin and I am working on some paintings for her son and daughter's bedrooms. The only question is...how am I going to choose which ones to print and frame? I LOVE them! Erin was so silly the day we took the photos. She woke up from her nap in a very blah mood. Wouldn't smile or laugh, but she wasn't upset either. You can see the mood in these photos...I just love the expressions on her face that day :) She looks so innocent. Here are just a few of my favorites....

Sneak Peek from the 6+ Month Photo Shoot

Erin had her second professional photo shoot last week. It was supposed to be a 6 month photo shoot, but betweeen weather and schedules it was almost 7 months before we got to have it. First Easter

Erin had a great first Easter and was completely spoiled by the Easter bunny. Wanting to be just like her older cousins, she reached several new milestones this weekend! She finally takes a bottle after watching her cousin Gregory (you have no idea how happy this makes me), she has become more vocal and is starting to babble (you have to make noise to get attention around this loud crowd), and she is constantly rocking back and forth on her knees trying to figure out this whole crawling thing (she watches in amazement as her cousins run around the room). I can tell she is going to have so much fun at future family events with the rest of the kids. We hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Easter.

Bob was out of town this past week and I was sick the entire time. What to do? Take a trip to Busia and Grandpa's house. My mom did a good job of spoiling me while I lounged on the couch. Erin is trying her hardest to figure out how to crawl. For now, she just pushes herself backwards or rolls to get where she wants. Better enjoy this time before she gains some speed!

Just Like Her Daddy

Erin had her 6 month checkup earlier this week. I can't help but laugh....her height is in the 50th percentile, her weight is in the 25th percentile, but her head is in the 90th percentile. Just like her Daddy....average height, skinny and a huge head! I swear I'm feeding her all the time, but she just won't chunk up!

Yesterday we took Erin to the park and she was able to sit on her own for several minutes at a time without falling over. We're enjoying the nice weather now because it is supposed to be freezing again this weekend. Can't wait for Spring!

My baby is now 6 months old! Where has the time gone? She is starting to look more like a toddler than a newborn and loves to grab anything in sight! Her favorite toy is the tv remote and she just loves her exersaucer. What a sweet little blessing in our lives.

No More Bouncy Seat!

Erin is officially banned from her bouncy seat. The other day she did a sit up and tried to reach over the edge and touch the floor (she was almost successful). Luckily she didn't fall out, but she almost gave me a heart attack! Looks like we are moving up to the exersaucer now! She is really starting to like her rice cereal, so I think we'll be trying some other solids soon. Here are more pics (we have about a billion photos now).

5 Months Old

I can't believe it, Erin is 5 months old today! Time has flown, although there have been a few nights that have seemed extremely long. We have survived her first cold and the sleep deprivation that goes along with that. Erin's favorite thing to do at 5 months is to suck on her toes while we're changing her diaper. Her main form of communication consists of spitting (as seen in the last video), which I did not teach her, but I'm sure my laughing has only reinforced it!! She can ALMOST sit up on her own, but she usually folds in half forward as she reaches to put her feet in her mouth. She can now do multiple rolls in a row, which has made our carpet space seem even smaller. I can tell how much she loves her daddy because she will drop everything to say hello when he comes home from work. She is still such a sweetie and continues to make me laugh every day with her silly squeals and little giggles.

Breckenridge, Cute Hats & Bumbo Seat

Erin took her first trip to Breckenridge this past weekend. She slept the whole way there, but the drive on the way home was a whole different story. The weather was beautiful so we were able to take a nice stroll, eat lunch with the Browns and look in a few shops.

I just love this hat I bought for Erin on Etsy.

She is able to sit up with the help of the Bumbo seat :)
